Centuries ago
the ancestors of the Fila Brasileiro were crossed
between Bulldogs, Bloodhounds, and Mastiffs. They were
used to protect plantations, to hunt, and to track runaway
slaves. They are unbelievable guard dogs that do not
like but will tolerate strangers. They make excellent
family pets and are really good with children.
Filas very athletic dogs that have the body structure
of a cat which allows them to have incredible speed.
The Fila can come in many different colors from brindle,
fawn, to black. The standards of the male Filas are
27 to 29.5 inches high at the shoulder and their weight
is at least 100 lbs. The females are slightly smaller
than the males.
Our Filas are raised in
our home as a part of our family. Our females are import
our of Argentina. They both have champion bloodlines
and they also have strong temperaments. They are FCA
and FCI registered.
